They are used for tamponade, to stop bleeding and secretions, to fix dressings, to apply pressure on any skin areas (especially for bleeding still) as well as to protect the wound or altered skin from environmental influences. The compresses are fixed with a bandage or adhesive bandage and are also widely used in cosmetology. The fabric edges are wrapped inwards to prevent threads from getting on the surface of the wound. Available in various sizes. Dressing materials such as gauze bandages, sterile compresses and gauze swabs should not be missing in first aid kits and the medicine cabinet. Directions 1.
