## Description

Snowflake food is very popular with shrimp keepers. It supplies a constant source of food for adult and juveniles. It is a great source for protein. We're feeding it as part of our feeding schedule at least once a week. It works great as holiday food in combination with leaf litter. Snow Flakes is made from soybean hulls. It provides a growth media for mycelia. Mycelia is the vegetative part of a fungi. The Mycelia contains proteins, amio acids, fats, and other beneficial nutrients for shrimp. You probably will not usually see fungus growing on the food unless you have no shrimp in the tank as they are constantly eating the fungus before it becomes visible. Snowflake does not polute the water and provides a constant source food for your shrimp, so it's perfect as a holiday food. Size: 30g

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How can a fish or shrimp food be non-polluting?**
A: If fed properly, the shrimp eat the part that would be polluting before it can muck up the water.

**Q: How does this work?  The shrimp swim around the pellet, which expanded in the water, but don't land on it to eat.**
A: The pellet falls apart, the pieces grow biofilm, and the shrimp eat the biofilm.

**Q: Do snow flakes have an expiration date? if so, how do i tell the date? the 2nd bag i bought contained discolored, hard pellets.**
A: The best before date might have been on the part you tear off to open the package because I can’t find one on mine either and I think they are required under German law.

Generally products like this can be good for years as long as the package is resealed properly after each use. As for the discolored pellets, if they didn’t smell or otherwise seem rancid it might just be due to variation in batches. It’s also possible that excessive heat or moisture might have affected the product. I can’t tell you without seeing it so you’ll have to use your own judgement there.

My product is dated out until mid 2025, so no issues there!! I break a stick in half and drop it in the tank and out come the shrimp!!! They love these! Updated 3/20/25 - my shrimp have reproduced like crazy and I use 3 stick at a time every few days. As you can see in the video, they LOVE these sticks - even the tiniest off them all. This bag has lasted this long and have a bit left before I need to reorder.
