Review: Great chess set. - Slight production issues on the top of the rooks but that is very minor and it is hard to get a perfect flat surface when molding rooks. Some wet sandpaper solved it. Otherwise these were perfect. Very solid, great weight and look fantastic. Bought it to play chess with my neighbour and transformed our games. Would highly recommend.

The rooks can make or break a chess set's aesthetics. I share the view of another reviewer that these - and possibly others from this brand - are great to look at. On minimal looks alone, I like this set which as a bonus comes with an additional pair of queens. The only downside is that there is no wooden box. So be prepared to budget for that, because the hardboard case will eventually wear out. The pieces are substantial and have some solidity which encourages me to want to play. Probably need a 19-21 inch board. All the pieces were level and not at all wobbly. Green felt was plush enough to protect. Okay, not cheap, but for an equivalent set by better-known makers, this punches well above its price point, good quality, and excellent value. Happy.
