Hope this helps **Q: Is there an opaque/frosted version ?** A: No unfortunately not but you can buy glass frosting spray that should work on the plastic and give the same effect? My advice would be to spray the inside of the stormguard which could potentially last longer than if it was on the outside, anything exposed to the elements will deteriorate over time so the spray may need reapplying periodically. Please note that these are my own suggestions not the suggestions of the company, I/we haven't tested this, I/we would advise a small test if you were going to try it. **Q: does this go on inside the room (or on the outside of the window?)** A: we placed ours on the outside of the window. It certainly acts very well as a protector to the vent, both in action and by just "being there". We have it on our boat and when it's up against the quay, it certainly stops any nasties being kicked up as people walk by. It wasn't expensive but it's a good thing to have.
