    Very enjoyable read

This book tells the tale of Emily and her husband Ian’s journey into her first affair, although it is never described by Emily as such. Ian is drawn to thoughts of watching his wife with anther man, Emily is not totally against the idea but worries about the consequences for her marriage and family of such a move. They plan a date night where they will play strangers and Ian will make a move on Emily in a downtown bar. As it turns out Ian kind of sets up Emily and as by chance or design (we never are quite sure as the book is written from Emily’s stand point) Emily’s co-worker Ray is at the same bar, they hook up while Emily waits for the delayed arrival of her husband. So begins a serious of events each one taking Emily further and further down the road to letting Ray have her, by various means Emily manages to engineer situations where her voyeur husband is able to watch. A very entertaining book, well written with believable characters and situations. The end is a little strange, where both Emily and Ian admit they greatly enjoyed they played this game neither feel the need to explore further, but it did leave me wondering whether either of them would be able to leave it alone now that the genie is out of the bottle. I think there is further scope for these two characters and hope that there might be a sequel sometime, I certainly would be one of the first to buy it.

    Really good!

Just prior to reading this book by Kirsten McCurran, I read Kenny Wright's "Ian's Obsession" which is essentially the same story with the same characters and the self same plot. The difference of course is that Kirsten's book is the story told from Emily's point of view. I think I enjoyed this one better from the point of view that it gave insight into the private conversations between Emily and Ray that Kenny's book couldn't give and they were very enjoyable. On the other hand, I think I enjoyed Kenny's better from the point of view that at the time of reading, it was a brand new story and obviously when reading Kirsten's version there was repetition allbeit unavoidable if the author is to stay true to the story. I would have preferred to have one longer book containing both versions rather than buy two books however it must be said that the story, characters, scenarios and the descriptions of all of these were excellent and my observations have'nt stopped me giving this book and the other a top rating.

    See Emily Play

A very hot book, well written and slow burning, surely smouldering. You know Emily will, but McCurran brings the right amount of guilt, self doubt and frission of excitement to the unfolding drama as her heroine, knowing she's wanted by another man, acts that bit sexier, that bit more confident, that bit more flattered by his compliments, that bit bolder. The role of the watching and encouraging husband is not quite so well fleshed out but you don't have to suspend too much imagination to believe the story. A real turn on for both sexes that just might sate a curiosity that in reality could be damaging... but then again!
