I am VERY happy I did. The first day was really hot and I am glad I had these and electrolytes in one of my water bottles. My husband has been known to get leg cramps on long rides so it was important that we have these. No leg cramps during the ride! We started taking one before the ride and one after the ride (50-60 miles each day with climbing) and we were able to do the 6 rides. Highly recommend. Basically an Electrolyte supplement for those that train hard. I suggest you check with your kids pediatrician. When I play hard I take 2 capsules every hour. Otherwise I jsut take one every hour of playing. **Q: What's the expiration date? (Today is June 11th, 2017)** A: I purchased 3 bottles a few months ago and the expiration date is June 2018. So they will last over a year. 3 bottles will probably last me around 6 months (or less). When exercising I take 1 capsule every hour, and if my games are really hard and long I take as much as 2 every hour. It gets very hot and humid here in Florida. Great product. Better than Gatorade and perfect for a diabetic since there is no sugar or artificial preservatives. **Q: Can you preload? Looking to ensure I am well hydrated prior to competition.** A: You an take it before and after. I take one every hour during play. If I am getting into some heavy workouts, then I sometimes take 2 every hour. I workout hard in temperatures over 980-90 degrees.
