## Description

The OEMTOOLS 27311 Power Steering and brake bleed kit is designed to remove trapped air from power steering and brake systems after fluid changes or repairs. Trapped air can cause pump noise, erratic steering, and premature component wear. This kit works with a hand vacuum pump to apply vacuum pressure at the reservoir, helping ensure a complete bleed. It includes two EPDM tapered rubber adapters to fit most power steering pumps and reservoirs, three brake bleeder adapter sizes for disc and drum brake systems, and a reservoir bottle to protect the vacuum pump from fluid backflow. Ideal for professional mechanics and DIY repairs, this kit supports a wide range of vehicles and provides an airtight seal for effective bleeding. Durable construction ensures repeated use in automotive service tasks.

Review: Great kit and worth it when on sale. - No complaints from me. I specifically bought this kit to bleed the power steering system on my 4th Gen RAM 3500 after repairs. It's difficult to get the air out any other way with the hydrobooster, and the single Mopar bleeding adapter is more than double the cost of this set. The narrow cone fit the reservoir perfectly and I was able to easy maintain a vacuum to specification. Totally worth it to me. As for the complaint about the blow-molded case not holding the ported lid for the cup, that's true but is fixed simply by taking a flat file to the end of the ports. One stroke of the file to each port to remove a little material was all it took to snap into the case. Where this kit really shined is when I used it to bleed the hydrogears on my zero-turn mower after changing the filters and fluid!
Review: READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY........ - I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and used this kit to get the bubbles out of the power steering system. The large rubber adapter is too small to fit the reservoir so I used the bubble pack envelope as a gasket to get suction. You’ll see what I mean in the video that I made to “mansplain” to my wife what I was doing 🤪 Overall I am happy & really like this product so I will keep it for other repairs. If you have the same Ford pump with the larger opening reservoir, you’ll need a gasket or use the padded envelope like I did.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this fit on a 1993 mustang lx with a 2.3l engine? do you sell the hand vacuum pump as well?**
A: Fit of tool adaptor to the pump filler hole not known for this car. However, physical filler bung adapter supplied with my purchase was not soft enough to seal the filler hole. Had to buy a filler cap and modify for vacuum hose fitting....

**Q: Will this work with just pumping and holding breaks without a hand pump?**
A: I do not own this adapter kit for power steering fluid change. However, I can say you will need to purchase the bleeder kit that comes with the pressure pump . You will not need to step on the break as the pump itself extract the break fluid from the line . Just make sure to have a good hose seal around the caliper nipple. If not properly sealed air gets in the line from the nipple base. If you’re just bleeding brakes, then get the brake bleeding kit only. This one is for power steering fluid change I believe. You may also find plenty of videos on this tool and how to properly use it online. Hope this helps. 👍

**Q: Can I get close up pics of the black rubber pieces to see if will work with my 2001 dodge Durango**
A: The skinny rubber piece measures about 3/4 of an inch on the bottom and a little bit over 1 1/2 inch on the top. The big rubber piece measures 1 5/8 inches on the bottom and just about 2 inches on the top. Hope that helps since you can’t post pictures in these answers.

**Q: So. the o-ring fell out of the cup and got lost the second time i used it. where can i get another one?**
A: Go to your local auto parts store such as O’Reilly’s and being the container. Ask for the box of assorted o rings and you’ll be able to go through them and pick which one best suites your needs.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent tool, could be better
*by T***Y on March 8, 2025*

As a professional mechanic I needed a way to better bleed the air from a power steering system on a Chevrolet Traverse. I saw this and for the price I thought I would give it a try. The tool function like it was supposed to and I did get a large majority of the air from the power steering system. My only complaint is with the adapters. I feel rubber of the adapters should be a little softer which would give a more air tight and secure seal. Better yet if the adapters were like the design of some coolant bleeders with an expandable adapter that once tightened would be secure and free from leaks. Again the tool is decent and I will use it again since I own it.
