The ones from India are in some small plastic container if that. This is a thick sturdy glass bottle and the cork is tight so it will keep fresh. Third - when I opened and smelled it I was hit with the freshest smell that was sweet and had such an amazing aroma. I was in the process of testing it. Fourth - soaked 2 strands in some warm water to see the color. I was blown away. 2 strands had more bright yellow color than any of the Indian saffron we ever had.
