It works by touch but it's VERY tricky. I can't just give it a casual tap with any part of my hand. I have to carefully lay my finger - my index finger seems to work best - in the exact right spot, and sometimes I have to do this for some time, rubbing and rolling my finger about until it's happy to turn on. The exact right spot would be impossible to find in the dark so I have added two blobs of blu-tack, one on either side of it to guide my finger at night. It's a ridiculously complicated rigmarole just to switch on a bedside lamp. But in other respects it's a very useful thing: it sits neatly on my tiny bedside table and it plays and recharges my Ipod. Ipod docks have become hard to find. The light is very bright and cool, so it would be better as a task light than a bedside light, and I might put it on my desk later. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Top!!! *by G***H on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 December 2013* The iPhone takes a little effort to mount as the fitting lacks a guidance piece but that is small beer as they say compared to the light given off and the practicality of the design. Cool for reading without burning my eyes out like a weapon of sadistic torture and the swivel mount works perfectly at ant hight for angle. It also looks as cool as is possible and dusts a treat.
