The base is, in fact, Nylon. Despite this error in the description I feel the chair is value for money for the £213.78 I paid for it and I will explain why I feel this way.I recently purchased, for my son, a Clutch brand Throttle Series Chair for £375 and after building both and comparing the quality of the build, apart from the Clutch chair actually having an aluminium base, they are virtually equal in respect to quality and materials. The PU Leather is the same, the adjustments are the same, the Multi-function mechanism is virtually identical if not exactly the same, the seat foam feels the same. I suspect if you were to take chair in the £350 to £400 Price range and compared it they would all use the same mechanisms and similar materials so I feel I got a bit of a bargain with this chair, particularly as I feel it actually looks better than many of the other similar chairs apart from maybe the Noble Chairs which the N. Seat Pro 600 reminds me of anyway.There are a few Issue with regard to attention to detail. For instance the Diamond Pattern on the seat either side of the centre stripe does not line up perfectly and they would be better off eliminating the centre stripe altogether which would rectify this issue. Also the arm rests are a little wobbly but this is also true of the Clutch chair so I suspect it is just a result of the design of the 4 way adjustable arm rests. Assuming the nylon base holds up I see no reason why this chair wouldn't last as long as the Clutch Throttle chair. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great product for a great price! *by M***D on 11 October 2017* I have had this chair for a good 5-6 months now which has been plenty of time to put it through its paces. My previous chair was a Charles Jaycobs gaming chair that I picked up for a bargain £80. It served me well for 2 years and then it died. Two of the casters had literally broken their sockets in the star base of the chair which was made from a plastic material. After two years of use the faux leather of the Charles Jaycobs had also started to peel away from the base material.After that I was looking more in depth at chairs and seeing as I spend a lot of time at my computer I wanted to spend a bit more money on a more up market and durable chair. The N-Seat 600 Pro is solidly built. It has a max weight limit of 20~ stone which is massive compared to most other chairs 12-16 stone limits. The star base on the N-Seat is made from metal and I can not see any skimping of the design or it failing like the Charles Jaycobs did. All of the main structure of the chair is metal and it seems very durable. Some of the parts are plastic like the lever for controlling tilt or the air jack but once you set up the chair in your preferred position it's not like you will be using the controls all the time.The chair still looks like it did the day I bought it. The vinyl arm rests are surprisingly comfortable and I use them to rest my arm on as I use my mouse on my pc. One other reviewer complained about assembly. I did have to use my intuition a little to put the chair together (judging what size screws to use where) but it is not that difficult it is only in around 8 parts. It remains to be seen if this chair will suffer the same faux leather failure that the Charles Jaycobs did but if you are looking for a quality chair at a reasonable price then I fully recommend buying the N-Seat 600 Pro. In my opinion you really do get good value for money with this product. ### ⭐ The quality didn't match the price *by A***R on 1 July 2017* The instruction guide is misleading and lack of details. It also missed one page compared to the online one. The leather looks good but the plastic they used is just awful. And all the functions on the chair sound lacking oil.
