Watch a video on YouTube to see how it works as the one I had, had no instructions. There are a few minor issues: Cutting heavier home made breads regularly, does eventually deform the guides somewhat and they do not bend back. This does make the slices slightly uneven, but the Simpleslice is well made enough to cope with this and does not feel like it will break. Make sure you have a long bread Knife and it is not too serrated.
