But then I turned it on one day and smelled burning plastic. No matter what level I set it on, the heat level remained the same and MUCH too hot - even when I turned it off!! I had to unplug it to get it to cool off. According to her, it smelled like it was burning and stopped working so she unplugged it for about an hour and tried it again and it wouldn't turn back on. We have returned this one and will be purchasing a heating pad from a more reputable brand. I give it 2 stars because while it was working, it worked great, good heat output, even at a low setting. Unfortunately it's very low quality.
