I purchased this lamp to replace a similar old one that stopped working after about 15 years. I like the old one better. 3 main disappointments on this one: 1) I thought the "touch" function would be activated anywhere on the metal surface (as my old lamp was - convenient to tap it with a toe or bump it with an arm when I'm walking by and carrying things). This one ONLY activates when you touch the "on/off" button, so there's kind of no point to have touch-activation since you have to touch it right at the on/off switch anyway. 2) I thought it took a standard LED bulb. It does not. No idea yet where I'll get a replacement when the time comes. 3) Assembly was straightforward (you screw the pieces together in a logical order), but the grooves in one section of the shaft don't line up so it doesn't screw all the way together (see pics). Too much trouble to box the whole thing up and ship it back and wait for a replacement, so I'll just keep it. Also, annoying for me but may not make a difference to others - I have the lamp near my bed. At night, the LED light on the on/off button is so bright that I had to turn the lamp so that the button is facing the wall. So now when I need to turn the lamp on, it's even more annoying that I have to press the button and can't just touch anywhere metal on the fixture. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ while not difficult it requires some patience as there are 5 parts that must be screwed together - it was good to have a helper the lamp must be on ... *by D***Y on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2018* iI just received and assembled the lamp.
