I have spoons sharper than the old blade I also found it was bent and twisted so no wonder it wasn't working well! It now glides and hovers with ease but most importantly cuts! Easy to fit too, just remove the screw nut holding the blade on, remove the blade, secure the new blade over the alignment holes and re-attach the screw nut (make sure it's tight but not over tight).
