Before I purchase one I wanted to try a battery powered router I already have which shares the same housing diameter with the Makita (65mm). I was thoroughly impressed with the performance of the router, and the strength & stability of this spindle mount! What an improvement in cutting power and performance vs the anemic spindle that comes with the CNC! The spindle mount of course fits the machine perfectly, which is expected since it’s specifically designed for the 4040 Pro. It’s flawlessly machined and holds the router with amazing rock-solid stability, despite the increased weight of the router vs. the original spindle. Looking forward to getting the Makita when the time is right.
