The basic package includes a GPS module with speed camera detection and an option to have voice alerts. The video resolution has been improved up to 2560×1080 (21:9) and 2304×1296 (16:9) at a rate of 30fps. Due to the high quality of the recording it is possible to recognise faces or identify license plates in even greater detail. The camera handles itself superbly no matter the situation. No matter whether it is at night, in poor visibility when driving towards bright lights or under other difficult circumstances the footage will still be captured at the highest quality and with maximum sharpness. A new function of the TrueCam A7s camera is the SPEEDOMETER function. With it you can monitor your current speed and direction (shown as a compass) directly on the display. As well as displaying the compass and current speed, the camera will also alert you to upcoming speed cameras. The display shows the speed limit while approaching the speed camera, its distance and will alert you when speeding. The SPEEDOMETER function can be set as a screensaver so that the display does not distract, for example, when driving at night. Review: truly great camera - totally awesome camera, if i had to criticize anything it would be the size of the micro sd card but for the price it is a great camera, highly recommended Review: Voice warnings only given in KPH. - A very good camera, but if you want to keep it, you have to make allowances, as it is not fully UK compatible. Whilst you can change the display to read in MPH, the voice system remains in KPH, so the voice tells you about a speed camera, but also tells you to slow down because you are going too fast when you are not. 30 MPH is 48 KPH, so the camera is acting as if the speed limit is 30 KPH. I have recently Feb 2020 noticed two out of four cameras that I am using are only recording in 30 sec segments when they are set up to record in 3 min segments, so lots of hassle if I needed to find a certain part of a journey. One camera returned the second reset and on trial.
