Ovaltine is not so "malty" but has a caramel/nougat flavor with a malt base. Of course that's pretty subjective. **Q: Shelf life aftet expiration date** A: If you close it tightly and place in the refrigerator, I have kept it up to a year without changing the taste. HTH **Q: Please could someone list the ingredients?** A: Look it up on line and there will be a list of ingredients. I called and they said NO CAFFEINE and that was what I was most concerned about.
