I leave it on for 30mins to cover my grey hair which is shoulder length but still has a lot of natural colour. So I buy one of each colour. Empty half of one colour into a container, refill the colour bottle with the colour from the other pack, then use the colour I'd initially emptied out to refill the colour bottle in the second pack, giving me two bottles of half and half. I can then use one now and the other in a few weeks time when I next want to dye my hair. The only problem with this dye is that it really struggles to cover the grey near my roots. No matter how long I leave it on it still doesn't cover it properly and I usually look as if I need to redo my hair after about 3 weeks.
