Super product=Happy me!
I'm currently running 802.11N and it's fast enough for my low 15mbs internet. This device covers what I need for it to do and more. I have used it as a WiFi extender as needed for my computer that possess an 802.11ac USB stick in another part of my home. Before this device, streaming video wouldn't work well. This device removed any kind of buffering issues that I was suffering from. The other aspect of this device that I used it for was a wireless storage drive. I have a 1TB drive that needs an ample supply of power for it to run. My windows tablet wouldn't run it without a power supplies USB switch. This device was about to power it and allow my work phone and personal phone to offload pictures and videos from it to the storage wirelessly and quickly. This shows me to clear up storage on my phones as well as keep the high resolution photo as apposed to the reduced resolution you would get on Google's online free storage.Lastly, as a stand alone charger it works great. For a little device, this thing does a lot. I had a don't wgc10 and I'm good I decided to upgrade to this. Please keep in mind that there is a "RAVpower" app on the playstore that doesn't work with this RAVpower device. You need to download the "FileHub Plus" app instead. I skipped instructions and failed the first time.

Not good for viewing videos 1080p and above.
Back in the day, I used to owned a HooToo Tripmate and it worked fine. Battery, local Wifi, + file sharing. So when this device died, it decided to try the RavPower File Hub.All in all, fairly straightfoward setup and good documentation. Battery power works fine, but that is about it.I planned on using this mainly as a DNLA server for long road trips, so I wanted to test out those capabilities mainly. After downloading the FileHub Plus app, it was pretty easy to load some files onto an SD card. At first, the SD card worked, and I could see the files. But then it stopped working. I plugged in an USB drive and it recognized all the same files again. When I tried to use the SD card again, same problem. It would not recognized the files on the SD card anymore. The second issue that I have is that it would play files that were 720p or below, but streaming anything above that creates constant buffering and stuttering. After some further testing, I see that this is a known limitation for this device.Going to try and find a new device to use.Pro: Small, portable. Power pack works as advertised. Good documentation.Cons: Movie quality has to be 720p or lower in order to stream without buffering. SD slot stopped working.

Do this one thing to get the most out of watching movies on your RAVPower
Great product - but here's the secret: place your movies in the Shared folder (and not the top-level directory on your SD Card or the Shared>Videos directory). Once I moved all my movies to the Shared folder, I could find them in the app via the giant "Movies" button on the app front page, and they loaded / played quickly.I had the movies in the top-level directory before and could only find them via Files / Folders button in the app, and then it would take a painfully long time to load the movies for some reason (and wouldn't work reliably). Also, customer service (via email) was very fast and helpful in pointing out how to make this work optimally. Kudos to a great product that lets my kids watch all their movies "offline" while traveling.

So far so good.
So far so good. I haven't been able to test the internet features yet, but I purchased this for a recent trip to Yellowstone this winter for a photography workshop. I needed to transfer my camera's SD cards to an external drive. I usually don't travel with a laptop and this worked perfectly.Put the SD cards in, use the iphone app to set up folders on external drive and transfer over.TIP: There are 2 ways to move files over to another drive. MOVE TO . or COPY... If you use the MOVE to option it will move files over to other drive and then erase the SD card. Not my preferred method and you'll soon discover one of your backups is not there. IF you use the COPY option it will copy the contents to the external drive and leave the SD files intact.Fit my needs PERFECTLY.

Useful WiFi repeater and access point for sharing wireless on the go
After reading all the reviews here, let me just add some new thoughts. First, I have been using this as a wifi repeater for a week. I have already saved twice the cost of the device by avoiding resort wifi charges. The resort charged $45 per device per week. Using the File hub plus to bridge, we were able to share four devices simultaneously with just one paid resort fee. Three devices, including a Windows laptop, iPhone and Android phone were all on wifi simultaneously with no speed issues. Now for the 'challenges';First, the built-in software is buggy. Although I choose English, it would periodically switch to Japanese for no reason.Second, the process of connecting to the resort wifi was clunky at best. It took multiple tries to connect to the resort log in page.Third, the software allows you to select the wireless channel you want to use when in wireless mode as well as wired mode. when in wireless repeater mode, it must be on the same channel as the resort Wifi. Choose 'auto' for the channel selection. If you don't, the device will eventually switch to the right channel. the instructions do not cover this. Finally, in a resort area with multiple wifi access points all visible on different channels and low power, it kept logging out and back in every 30 seconds. Likewise, as I moved through the resort, it had trouble 'roaming' and switching between wifi access points. Would eventually reconnect, but with delay. The built in battery runs the device all day and evening. Solid build and strong plastic case. Feels like ABS.Also not sure wher to check for and download the latest firmware. If someone knows, please advise.

Better end up traveling with my laptop
I wouldn't recommend this. It is an extremely unreliable unit and if you transfer multiple files your chance to end up with the corrupt or incomplete transfer is 100%.I did multiple tests, between iPhone and external drive, iPhone and SSD, SSD and external HDD. Same issues, the very few files are getting transferred and all of them are incomplete after that.Unless if you are planning to use a few files at a time, and not SSD with pictures, for example, you should be okay.My data is very important, and I cannot take any risks by not having all files transferred for the next day.

Decent for what it is, but room for improvement
After taking it on two trips (month long and 2 weeks long) where we didn't have a computer, I can say that it did it's job, albeit with some caveats.Pros:- Lightweight solution to transfer photos/videos from an SD card to an external hard drive- Decent sized battery bank if you need to charge something (though I had other battery banks that I would use first so that I could use it solely for powering the external HD and transferring photos)- Fairly easy to connect to, though there are some tips to make it work with your phone better (i.e. disable mobile data, else your phone will try to connect to the internet via your mobile network since the wifi network has no internet connectivity)- There's an android app you can use, or you can use the built in web-page to do transfersCons:- Transfer rates are pretty slow (wished it had USB3 protocol), e.g. moving 300 to 400 pictures/videos took at least half hour- Even with the latest firmware (as of June 1, 2019), if you don't open the app every so often, the transfer will stop until you open it- Even just moving photos on the same storage device (e.g. SD card) requires time to transfer (where as if you had a PC, the transfer would be fairly instantaneous)- Is fairly slow viewing any files through the filehub- While connected to the filehub, your phone won't have access to the internetI never had a chance to use it as a router so I can't comment on that.Overall, if you really don't want to carry a laptop around just to transfer files from SD cards to an external HD it does the job, albeit slowly.

Very handy but Slow as Hell
I need to be honest. This thing is VERY HANDY for what it does, and not too expensive. That said, File transferring while on the go is a godsend thing, BUT at the same time is slooooow as hell. I don't know if it's mobile app's fault or just because it's old tech. I know there's newer products that are faster. So it works on an emergency, but don't expect speed for transferring files. In the end you can always use it as backup power to your gadgets with extra handy features. :)

Great Customer Service
I needed something to bring with me for an upcoming trip that allowed me to back up my pictures without the need of a computer, and this device seemed to fit the requirement. The unit arrived and I was eager to test it out, I place the SD card in it and attached an external USB Drive. The unit could see the USB drive, but not the SD Card. I tried a number of things that were suggested on their website, but none of them worked. So I contact the company via their support email address and also by phone. The tech support on the phone confirmed that my unit had a faulty SD card reader, and the email response from the company offered to replace the faulty unit. I accepted their offer and after a few days a new unit arrived and this time the unit worked as advertised. Great customer service, I gave them 4 four stars instead of 5 because the first unit did arrive with a faulty SD drive.

3-in-1 travel router working well but using outdated security protocols
This device works well as a wireless NAS mini server once SD-cards, USB sticks or USB Hard drives are added. It works out of the box for most streaming file formats with the software that comes with it:a) login using IP number in browserb) using Android or Windows apps that can be downloaded. With either a) or b) there is no support to open a PDF or DOC file, edit it and save it right back to the original spot. For this to work the drives on the FileHub Plus must be mapped (using SMB1 protocol). Note that mapping is not mentioned in the user manual.Mapping works on Windows (e.g. using File Explorer) and also on Android (e.g. using ES file explorer), and possibly for Apple devices which I did not test.Note that the full mapping address must include FileHub_IP/[drive_name].This device should see some improvement on the security protocols hence only three stars:The devices offers SMB1 for mapping but should allow the use of SMB2.When connecting to the device via browser there is no https available, only http which the browser comments with a warning. Wifi should be set to use WPA2 only (not mixed). The Wifi range is very good for such a small device. Before regular use, the Wifi name (SSID) should be changed to one that will not tell the type of the device and passwords for admin and guest should be set.I can recommend this device pending the necessary security updates in the near future.
