Review: Happy - I have dark leg hair that seems to grow quite fast, meaning I usually need to shave every other day. My legs are very dry and scaly, moisturising alone does not do very much. I have been using these for a few weeks now and I am happy with the results. My legs are smoother, no longer scaly or overly dry. I would say they are fantastic for exfoliation. I don’t feel like I am spending ages using these, I would say about 5 minutes in total for both legs. Maybe a little longer when you add in the cool face cloth and moisturising after wards. I have extremely sensitive skin on my legs. Lots of hair removal methods leave my legs red, itchy and sore. There is a little sting after using these. It does not last long if you follow the aftercare results stated on the back of the packet. I am not left with any redness or itching. It says to use once a week. For me, this does not keep leg hair at bay. I need to shave once a week also to keep things right. Overall, I am impressed for the exfoliating alone. I will definitely purchase these again.
Review: Great for ingrown hair prevention. - Very efficient! I used to buy Marks & Spencers' version and was happy with them: these are a lot more efficient and I understand how some people might hurt themselves if they are rubbing too enthusiastically. You need to be gentle, especially when they are brand new! Only increase the pressure if it feels confortable. Do not attempt to remove all the hair on the first day. Even those that have not come off at first, will be erradicated on the 2d or 3d day (or even whilst rubbing against your clothes, because they will have been greatly weakened). As well, make sure you start a new mitt on the legs and not on the arms... (as I did!...) I only use them on my legs and arms. On the first day, I worked the mitts for 1 or 2 mn per half-leg, even less on the arms. Afterwards, I use them a few seconds everyday as maintenance, or whenever the hair becomes noticable again and starts bothering me. Despite having dark/strong hair and, very pale/sensitive skin, I never have to wax or shave anymore. REGARDING INGROWN HAIR I used to suffer from very bad ingrown hair but I don't anymore. I moisturise after buffing, and use "Nad's Ingrown Solution" (when needed, not necessarily every day and not directly after buffing). I use the blue spray bottle (for men) as they don't do a spray for women anymore, only a gel which feels a bit sticky. This product has salicylic acid, which helps exfoliate dead skin cells, as well as glycerin, which moisturises the skin: I swear by this stuff! If I already had ingrown hair, I would not use the mitts to buff them off. I would encourage the hair to come out naturally by exfoliating with "Nad's Ingrown Solution". I would still use the mitts over the area, but gently, not applying any extra pressure. I now have hairfree, baby-soft legs and arms that only take a few seconds a day to maintain.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you use this on arms? I've just received mine, and it says on the back of the product that it is suitable for leg areas only. Why is this?**
A: Be careful.I do use them on my arms, but as they have quite a rough finish, if you use them whilst brand new, or too forcefully, you will hurt yourself, whether or your arms or legs. What I do is, gently rub 2 new pads against each other for 1 second or 2 max (it softens them enough so they don't scratch the skin). Then I LIGHTLY buff the hair using a circular motion (you should barely feel it on your skin) As a guideline for a first time use, I would recommend spending about 10-15 seconds on a whole forearm: I would not buff for more than 2 seconds on a single spot. Most of the hair will remain, but it will be severely damaged. The following day, if you feel no irritation whatsoever on your skin, repeat the same procedure (not longer). Eventually, and within a matter of days, the hair will desintegrate and disappear, and then use to maintain the result you desire. If you start feeling any kind of irritation, it means you have either applied too much pressure or spent too long buffing: give your skin a break until all irritation has gone and start again, being more gentle this time. After each buffing session, use a good moisturiser. Plain coconut oil, either on its own or added to a cream or lotion would be very good, because coconut oil contains Lauric Acid which has anti microbial properties, and, I believe, some exfoliating properties: this will help prevent ingrown hair.Hope this helps

**Q: Are these Alida mitts purple in colour or black? Looking for the less abrasive old silky mitt that were not black.**
A: Alida Hair Remover Mitts for Legs (we originally called these SilkyMitt) are Purple

**Q: Are these black or purple in colour? It's the purple coloured mits I'm looking for that are no longer available elsewhere and less abrasive.**
A: Alida Hair Remover Mitts are purple

**Q: Does this actually work**
A: I have used these for quite a while and yes, they do work.
They remove unwanted hair but they also remove any dry skin leaving smooth legs.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not really wide enough
*by P***M on 9 March 2025*

Works quite well but would be better if it was a bit wider - I don’t have big hands for a woman but could only get 3 fingers in it with ease.
