Peroxide comes in different strengths 3%, 6%, 9%, 12%. With cool cover tint it's best to use 6 or 9% peroxide. Inside the box there are instructions telling you the ratio to mix the tint to peroxide, eg, 50ml tint to 100ml peroxide, mix together to form a cream then apply to roots first then rest of hair. Tints do dry hair so it's best to leave on hair for exact time required+no more. Conditioning is important for aftercare, so you should always use a good conditioner. I recommend L'Oréal elvive for coloured hair, the shampoo and conditioner are very good. It's a bit like chemistry you mix tint+peroxide together, that's what they use in salons and box dyes, never use tint on its own+read the instructions carefully. It gets better with practice.
