This listing is for a set of 10 baluster shoes. **Q: Are these square shoes for the bottom or top of the balusters? If bottom, how do you secure the baluster and shoe to the wood staircase?** A: For both top and bottom. You secure/glue the baluster to the staircase then tighte the set screw on the shoe to the baluster. **Q: What kind hand rail would i need to attach to rails** A: Makes no difference, you drill holes into rail, then insert the baluster, with the shoe on it, then tighten the set screw on the shoe.
