I have used a set of the ones pictured in the stock photo (at the time of this review) with the same plastic, twisty tie like handle material and what I received on this order is a much greater improvement. The material on these handles are synthetic leather strip with a gold rope inlay. This "pleather" material feels really nice like actual leather and is of a good thickness. The thin gold rope shines well but no flaking glitter like debris. The black finish is nice and smooth all the way around. The butt on one handle is slightly off possibly due to being hand crafted. This is the reason I dropped a star.
