I think it is more geared towards the independent schools, whose tests tend to include questions which require some lateral thinking. These papers certainly have those types of question.Each question has a detailed, hand-written explanation, some of which are a little hard to follow, especially for a child. The way the book is printed doesn't help this, as you have to keep rotating the pages.The questions are in 6 graded papers, so only two at each level, and the last two have very difficult questions which seem way beyond most things I've seen on independent school sample papers for the Birmingham, Warwickshire and Worcestershire schools. Maybe there are some schools in London and the South East which expect this level.I would have liked a resource with graded questions on separate topics for practice as the child works up to doing full papers. This would make it easier to target weaker areas. The author does have a YouTube channel where he does useful videos on separate topics.Given that perhaps only two of the 6 papers are geared at the standard 11+ level, this is an expensive resource if you are only entering for that test. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Highest standards- Maths 11+ or Common Entrance *by M***M on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 January 2021* Another OUTSTANDING book by Robert Lomax. All problems are very clearly explained (with examples). You are not just given the answer - Robert has written the method of solving a problem and why and how he got to the answer. You wouldn’t need a tutor OR be Maths expert yourself. Everything is laid clearly out to a very high standard, whilst keeping it simple, for children to understand. If your child is sitting a scholarship exam, those are the books to look into. Robert Lomax is clearly truly passionate about teaching children, not only to pass a test, but to understand why and how everything works. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book *by N***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2023* I have used Robert Lomax books before and it is excellent for anyone preparing their child for 11+.
