Beginning with a hand-thrown mold, they are twice-fired at high temperatures. They are made from natural stoneware clay with a nontoxic reactive glaze finish. Their extremely low porosity (0.3%) helps prevent chipping and cracking. Perfect Dimensions The bowls are approximately 6" in diameter and 3 1/8" tall. They hold approximately 16 ounces (2 cups) when filled to the brim, so they are quite generous. The size is versatile enough for everyday use or for entertaining on special occasions with soups, salads, cereals, ice cream, fruit, rice... you name it! The size also works well as a decorative snack, nuts, or candy dish. Dishwasher, Oven, Freezer, and Microwave Safe! The bowls are dishwasher safe, but you will also find that they can easily be cleaned by hand. Avoid using abrasive cleaners (steel wool, steel wire scrubbers, etc.) They are oven safe to 535 degrees Fahrenheit (280 degrees Celsius).
