I made a pistachio cake that I wanted to make more green without using artificial food coloring. I ordered this product because it was not an extract or flavoring but real ground pandan leaves. The bag was rather small but enough for several cakes. Upon opening the bag, the smell is lovely - kind of floral and green plant. Tasting the powder directly was nice - I could tell this might make a good tea but not sure if it would stain your teeth - it is really green! I used two tsp per loaf of cake and the color was beautiful green. I did not detect any kind of flavor however. Next time I use it I will double the amount because it would be nice if the lovely flavor would come through. So now I am a big fan of pandan and this brand which I am ordering again. Making green Christmas cookies?
