I don't understand the people who say they need more instructions to get it going. It couldn't be simpler if it tried. You plug it in to the wall, put the USB cable into your laptop and a cable into the headphone socket on your laptop. All you then need is one of those little cube speakers to attach to it and you are off! You can use your sound system but I found the quality fine with one of those little speakers. The choice of songs is great and obviously you don't need to use theirs. You get one month's free subscription so you can sing along as much as you want. My daughter likes to sing to Barbie so I just look on youtube for songs with the words (there are hundreds of them) and use those instead (saves you a subscription if you don't want to pay after your month is up). The sound quality of the microphone is excellent and I love that you can turn the music up and down as well as the echo. My friend loves the echo but I'm not so keen so it's up to you. Combining it with YouTube karaoke tracks meant we had a passable selection, and it’s easy enough to subscribe to for a month at a time.
