I can see no other reason why the shower head would not work with an electric shower. **Q: Is there a flow restrictor in this shower head? My shower used to be a lot more powerful before this was fitted.** A: Not aware of one. There is a ball which swirls around inside with the water flow to break up any scale, which might slow it a fraction. It does have a gauze filter at the connector which will slow the flow as well. Maybe your original shower head didn't have one?
