Product description SMC-Direct towing pole made from 50mm & 40mm thick walled box section steel interchangeable through 90° to fit towing eyes at different angles, length extends from 1.8m to 2.6m assembled using high tensile locking nuts for complete safety and piece of mind and supplied in a black high gloss finish for total long lasting protection. Fits to the vehicles towing eye with a replaceable heavy duty 12mm D-Shackle connector and supplied with a quality German made trailer hitch. Supplied with heavy duty 12mm lifting D` Shackle connectors at each end and high tensile locking nuts for complete safety and piece of mind and also gives you the option of using the trailer coupling attachment for vehicles which have a standard 50mm tow ball to connect to. Review: Perfect - Looks and feels very strong. Not had to use it yet but fits tow bar perfectly.
Review: Sturdy piece of kit. - I bought this to help a friend and it was easy to use, after keeping it in the van I have used it many times to help out stranded motorists. Its nice to have a decent tow bar for towing other vehicles especially one that links onto my tow ball, the 2.6M length is nice for the driver of the vehicle being towed behind aswell.

**Q: I want to pull a small Trailer with a light boat only 400kg which is 1/2 Tone can this work? Thanks**
A: No is the simple answer, its for towing 2 vehicles with a driver in each.

**Q: Will it push the rated 3.5 ton?**
A: It is designed to PULL the load. Not PUSH the load. Saying that, I pushed a 2Tonne Range Rover up at moderate slope for around 300meters. 
The issue is that the connection point is, tow bar mount at one end and the other is a D shackle. So they don't want the D shackle bit punching a hole through your bumper, Rad etc. 

It's a really strong bar in my opinion.

**Q: will this towbar bend when breaking due to the towbar not being straight as its on an angle when towing,**
A: No it will not. Unless your towing an articulated lorry. I used it to tow my Land Rovers home when one breaks down. Heavier than your normal car. Tow bar was not straight on either time.

**Q: Is the ball tow hitch on this really rated for 3.5 ton? It looks like the pressed steel ones which are only good for 750kg.**
A: I have successfully towed about 2.5 tons of one landrover with another

I bought this to help a friend and it was easy to use, after keeping it in the van I have used it many times to help out stranded motorists. Its nice to have a decent tow bar for towing other vehicles especially one that links onto my tow ball, the 2.6M length is nice for the driver of the vehicle being towed behind aswell.

Arrived before time and is well made the only down point is the fact it was wrapped in bubble wrap soon after spraying and therefore stuck to the bubble wrap which left a poor quality paint finish. otherwise would have had 5 stars.
