Any ideas??** A: Yes it comes with a cross brace but unless you decide to bolt it down yourself, I recommend you buy a set of 4 plastic base parts made to fit the cross brace. You then fill it with sand or water, or both. Ps this is a brilliant parasol, great value and comes with a neat cover for when folded up. **Q: Can you get a base that can be concreted into the ground to avoid the long sticky out legs?** A: You can get a base. It comes in 4 hollow plastic pieces which fit between the sticky out legs. We filled ours with sand, but I suppose you could use water, to weigh it down. It is very sturdy, and you have the option of moving it if you ever want to. I don't think you could concrete the base into the ground, it is quite big, it stands higher than the legs. You could probably just put the legs in concrete, or try bolting them down. We are very happy with the plastic base we got with the parasol. **Q: Does this parasol tilt?** A: Yes, the shade tilts by moving the lever from high (shade flat) to low (shade tilted). **Q: Is the cable mechanism cord or a proper metal cable?** A: It's cord but very sturdy. Lovely engineering - everything fits perfectly, Allen key provided etc. Had a minor panic when couldn't find Part B, an essential component, but it was already inserted into the stem and just needed to be unscrewed and pulled out. But it is really heavy so you absolutely need to purchase the "Steady PE Base for Sun Umbrella" from SORARA that fills with 60kg of water, or it will fall over immediately.
