Very strong rigid body, without too much bulk or weight; cuts extremely well. I was originally concerned about the thickness but I've had no issues so far. The other complaint I saw was that the blade retention mechanism wasn't strong enough and would slide out while cutting. The description says it does, but the photos show otherwise.** A: There is no thumb screw. However the slide lock is metal and and solid, does not move unless you use the slide. I would consider this the Rolls Royce of snap knives and wish it had been available years ago. Note there are a number of variations to the design for different purposes at varying prices. I have that number 10-475 on mine. I noticed the blades supplied weirdly didn’t seem as sharp as the same brand top-up ones however. Quite a bulky thing, so sometimes tricky to make cuts when nearing the end of the snap-off blades.
