Review: Sturdy rod! - The rod is a little bit on the heavy side, but it's a solid construction. Bought it with an Okuma Convector reel, 65 pound Suffix 832 coastal camo for a fishing trip in Cuba. This was a very strong, yet inexpensive kit I'd recommend. It was still easy to feel the lure movement and fish biting, bringing back nice barracuda felt easy.

**Q: Could this be used as a pier / bottom fishing rod?**
A: Yes but match the size of the rod to what you are going after, 30-50 lbs or 50-80 lbs. These are great rods for the money.

**Q: Can this be used on open face reel**
A: It can but "spincasters or open-face reels" don't cast very well with the roller guides. I would go with another rod if you are going to be casting b

**Q: Is it normal for my reel to not line up with the rollers. It is because of the insert for the reel to keep it in place makes it look messed up.**
A: if it is two pieces like mine the first roller should be lined up and second piece can be rotated to line up with the first. they fit tight so line them up before you push it all the way in. it took me a few tries to get them right.

**Q: can i add 80lb braid line to the 2 pice?**
A: Yes

Couldn’t believe the price for this rod! Was expecting something cheaply made, but it is far from it! Needed an affordable roller style rod for planer trolling that would last. The reel seat is heavy duty and the double metal locking rings locks the reel on tight. I still use a reel clamp to secure the reel to the rod however, and the clamp fits perfectly over the reel seat. The metal rollers are of good quality and have been performing well. Been using the rod on every trip out to planer troll and after 1.5 seasons no signs of corrosion or failure. Highly recommend this rod if you’re looking for something affordable yet quality made.
