The rescueME EDF1 electronic distress flare offers users a safe and long-lasting solution to visual signalling in an emergency. The unique lens design combined with the use of advanced LEDs and highly efficient circuit technology ensures a constant level of light output throughout the life of the user replaceable battery. The light output is a beam of over 30° throughout the full 360° azimuth, providing in excess of 6 times more light coverage than other electronic flares*. **Q: does it float?**
A: Hi It does although it has limited buoyancy I alway attach a cord to bottom just in case. I recommend it it has proved useful after a drift dive we missed the pick up boat in choppy sea and darkening conditions , boat saw it over 1500m away

**Q: What size and type of battery does this use, please?**
A: the battery is integrated into the handle. The battery can be bought seperately from the seller or any marine store that sells these flares. the cost is approx £23. They however have a very long shelf life.

**Q: Please excuse me if this is a stupid question, but is the light attractive/bright enough to work in daylight?**
A: Hi there. 
There is a test function on the unit which I use regularly and I can tell you it’s bright enough to be seen for a min three mile radius in daylight.

**Q: The very fact of a £23 battery which can only be got from the supplier put sme right off!!??**
A: I fact it is only replaceable by a service agent. When serviced and tested.
