The controls are good and work fine on console.The gameplay is intense and I would advise paying attention to all the tutorials. While combat can happen,avoiding aliens as much as possible is the aim.Cutscenes are rough and the graphics in game are much better. Zooming in and out with different lighting and environments it's very pretty game at times.So if your familiar with xcom 2 you will do well here. I also recommend switching the combat from slow mo to pause when giving orders. It's much easier and allows more patience when deciding mid combat tactics. Also use motion trackers when possible all over the map as to drag the aliens attention away or maybe even set a lure trap with mines ;). There's enough options. Not nearly as many as xcom 2 but it's a cheaper game at launch so there's that to consider.I'm half way through and love it. The games great and I don't get the lack of hype for this . Like XCOM, but with real-time combat, greater focus on squad tactics, and large hand-crafted maps.I've played dozens of different games in the strategy/tactics genre, and this is the first game that took me 3 evenings to complete the first mission on Hard difficulty. Your marines have many tools at their disposable, but they are physically frail and prone to injury, dismemberment, abduction, and permanent death. On top of this, you have to manage their stress levels. Injuries and drawn-out conflicts can rapidly increase their stress levels, which left unchecked will develop into traumas that negatively impact their performance in various ways.The horror movie-like lighting and sound effects combine to recreate the atmosphere of tension that the Aliens movies are known for.
