Cos ive had 3 sets of plastic ones since i bought the chair 6 months ago and the keep breaking.** A: Hi. To be honest I can't remember what they were made of but they seemed robust with a strong centre. In time the tyres will perish/wear. The spokes themselves seemed thick enough and robust. They come with washers to adjust the placement on the wheelchair, this was needed otherwise the wheels would wobble I assume this is standard between products.
