Being waterproof is not really a concern, since his post-op is primarily inside. We were shocked and disappointed with how stiff and abrasive the legs are with this suit. It was difficult to get on and off over the wounded knee and did not have a soft inner lining against his shaved leg. I think this product would work great for what it's intended for. IF you size properly, the compression is there, it doesn't fall off, and is breathable! 10 out of 10 I however, needed something for a slightly different purpose, and this product also works perfect! I couldn't be happier with the quality! What I used it for: My Senior Large Doodle developed a very bad pressure sore...Wearing a cone 24/7 is not an option. These "pants" have protected the area from his "licker" and prevented him from being able to pull of bandage. What's better, I sized up....and was able to put a "donut" under the "pants" allowing for my Dood to move freely and still have that area padded when he sits. Picture shows t-shirt sticking out...I used as a cover for the donut to help keep it clean.... He is able to potty #1 & #2 with it on.
