I came across this listing and after reading other reviews I thought I'd take a chance on this pack. Here's the breakdown of the good, the bad, and the indifferent: Good: + Price: for the cost of a regular price 10 pack of Tombow Dual Brush pens, you get 100 different dual tip markers, which is hard to beat + LOTS of colors: there is a lot of variety with this pack and I found that several of the colors were very vibrant (almost neon looking); there is one marker that the cap looks metallic, but the actual marker has no type of sheen (just looks gray) Bad: - Lack of identification: I knew this before purchasing, but there is no way to identify the colors (Tombow markers have a number on the barrel of the marker so you know which color you're using); I labeled my markers 1-100 with a bit of paper and Scotch tape and then created a grid as a color guide (see photo) - Lid colors not completely accurate: this isn't unique to these markers, but some marker lids were quite different from the actual ink color; I included an image that shows a few examples (color I labeled #2 looks almost black on the lid, but the color is almost a dark green) - Some fine tips dried out: when making my color grid I discovered that a two of the fine tips were dried out (a pink and a yellow); this isn't a big deal for me since I still have 98 colors to use and still feel this was an incredible value even if a few were dried out; time will tell how long the markers last Indifferent: * Great for hand lettering, not recommended for coloring: I know the listing says it's great for coloring, but in my opinion I would choose something different - the brush tip is just a bit smaller than a Tombow Dual Brush pen (which is on the larger size in my opinion - I prefer the Pentel Touch Sign Brush pen so I can write longer phrases - see photo for comparison) but the fine tip is closer to the ultra fine tip Sharpies which is too small when coloring a shape; I personally prefer the Feela fine tip for adding accent details (I think the Tombow fine tip is a little too thick) * Lack of organized storage: with so many pens, storage is a hard thing to tackle; the lids have slightly different tapers so some have the brush tips facing down and others have the fine tip facing down; again for the price and variety of colors it's still very much worth it, but something I wanted to let others know about * Ridged edge near brush tip: depending on how you grip the marker, the brush tip has a ridged design that might be uncomfortable for long writing/coloring sessions, again the price and variety still makes up for this, but something to make others aware of (you can see it when you zoom on some of the product images) Overall thoughts: I would recommend this product - the incredibly low price for 100 brush tip markers (that ALSO have a fine tip) can't be beat. Just know that you'll probably want to try a color on a scrap piece of paper to make sure you have the one you want since there isn't a way to identify the colors (unless you do it yourself as I did). I just received these so we'll see how they hold up over time, but I'm very pleased with my purchase. I need nice markers for an adult coloring book, the pages are almost as thick as card Salk.** A: These are water-based markers, a la Crayola -- they behave like Crayola, unless you get very "juicy" ones which you can never be certain of. Crayolas are $14 for 100. You will tear up any paper if you add water to these or those too, unless its labeled "watercolor paper." They would only smear in a mess if you add water anyway. I don't believe the watercolor paintings pictured were made with these markers, as it's just not possible. For coloring books, buy a quality set of budget watercolor pencils , maybe for less $$, (which are reviewed as "activates easily" by customers), so you will only need a tiny bit of water to move the pigment around. You'll save your book and paper and get MUCH BETTER effects. Plus, you can learn some actual watercolor techniques and play around with color mixing and create your own colors -- it's not hard at all! Just think CRAYOLA -- they don't blend, they can't make make other colors, they are one shade/hue/color only and always over saturated, i.e. very dark or extraordinarily bright. They look very unrealistic. Unless it says "Real Brush Pen," these markers are all fraudulently labeled as "brush tips."
