For removing the Valve and spear on American Sanke kegs. This tool will push the spear down, it does not remove the ring.

Review: Works just as I expected - This tool worked just like I hoped it would for removing the spear in my sanke kegs. I saw a few negative reviews mentioning the screw tightening while trying to compress the spear. A simple solution would be to remove the screw and apply some loctite and put the screw back in but not too tight to allow the spear plunger to spin freely.

**Q: It works for Sankey type D?**
A: It is basically worthless. It is poorly made or devised. You will have the same luck with a spear knife tool or a good quality and appropriate size screwdriver. But, yes it will work.

**Q: Can this be used to depressize a  keg?**
A: Yes, but be aware that if there is still liguid in the keg it can spray out

**Q: I assume that this also helps with reinstalling the snap ring?  Please confirm.**
A: The Sanke Valve/Spear Removal Tool is required for both removal and install of the snap ring.  Just reverse the procedure.  Be careful and read the instructions.  Make sure there is no pressure in the keg before removing the Sanke Valve.  You will also need a tool to remove the snap ring like a modified screw driver once the valve has been compressed by the Spear Removal Tool.  Read the instructions.

Good tool...I used it for putting retention ring back on keg after filling my homebrew in keg This tool made it very easy otherwise it was very tough to put it back. Only thing is this tool is more expensive than my sanke 1/6 keg lol.. but it works fine.
