The book is blessed with wonderful pictures and a well-written text. Gianluca Zaghi is a luminary in his field and so it is not surprising that here, in my humble opinion, a real standard work lies ahead of me. Gorgeous as the author dives into the subject and animates you to do the same. The book is written with passion and abundant expertise. I would like to recommend it to anyone interested in this field.

Lots of pretty pictures, but the text is all generalities. Author does not "drill down" into detail. Oh, and I hope you like (don't we all?) Italian bikes, I don't think there's a single picture of anything else. I'll keep looking for a book with more specifics, like thread sizes and such.

As a procedural guide or technical reference this is a bit out dated and lacking.  It is a nice nostalgic piece. I'm glad to have it in my library, not sure why.
