This knife is a bit below average, even for cheap knives. I love good knives, but for some tasks I don't want to use a $300+ white-steel knife I have to oil after use. Sometimes I WANT to use a cheap knife I can run through a quick sharpener and throw in a dishwasher. This looked to have the right shape and a nice handle for a cheap knife, so I gave it a try. Well, it is well-shaped. Handle and blade are well-shaped, and the guard it comes with is nice. It washes easy and has no rust/staining. That's about the best I can say. Plastic parts have unpleasant seams (which will wear down eventually) and edge-retention is sub-par, even compared to cheap clamshell-pack Walmart knives. After a dozen small-time uses - like trimming strawberries and trimming fat from chicken - the edge is dull and there's a burr on the blade I can't seem to get rid of. They are a cheaper shun line made of aus8a.
