I don't think there would be specific recommended spacing. Just common sense is needed. I dropped a knife onto another part of the Kitchen work top and so in order to cover the cut mark, I looked for another set and found them on Amazon. They arrived in super fast time and were very easy to fit. After leaving for 24hrs, as per instructions, they are as solidly fixed as the previous ones. This is an ideal product and actually does what it is designed for. The ones that have been in place for all those years have withstood Very Hot pans straight from the hob and oven. They clean up easily and do not budge or come loose, even when cleaned with kitchen cleaning products.
