Our Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) is not licensed by Chromadex. Tru Niagen is Nicotinamide Ribosite with Chloride added to make it stable on the shelf. We enclose NR in liposomes which make it stable on the shelf and also protects the NR from digestion in the gut, greatly improving the bioavailability. **Q: What is the upc barcode for this product?** A: Surpringly there is no UPC label on the bottle. I don’t recall if it came in other packaging like a box that could have had one but I don’t think it had additional packaging. **Q: This q is for the seller/supplier. Doesn't tru niagen (chromadex) have a patent on this, and if so, are you able to sell it without their trademark?** A: Chromadex liscenses some patents from Dartmouth on use of Nicotinamide Riboside Chloride, which have been challenged and found to not be valid. WR Grace has some patents on manufacturing of a form of crystalline Nicotinamide Riboside Chloride. They add Chloride to Nicotinamide Riboside to make it stable. We use Nicotinamide Riboside without the chloride, which is not covered in the Dartmouth or WR Grace patents.
