I have a silicone casing on my airpods, but as safe as that is, I found it difficult to still put in my backpack with heavy stuff or things that might leak. I didn't want to take the chance! But mostly, When I go out I bring a purse-wallet type thing, and if I wanted to take my airpods with me, I had no where to put them but my pocket (Which in tight skinny jeans or leggings, isn't ideal). This hard shell keychain allows me to take it with me on my keys, easy and quick access to my airpods, and keep an extra set of head phones with the little pouch, in case my airpods die. This thing is great :) my only complaint is I really wish it came in different colors or a cloth material overing the outer shell instead.
