It adds shine and volume and shields hair from further damage by forming a coating on it. It can promote hair growth, reduces hair fall, dandruff and other mild scalp problems. Our Henna Chestnut/ Auburn powder is made of Henna Powder, Manjistha Powder, Hibiscus Powder, Red kamala Powder, Katha powder from Rajasthan, India(details of where it is processed are given below). If you have a darker colour hair it will give your hair Reddish undertone brown color. Customers who are new to using Henna and has 70% grey and you are trying to achieve black brown colour may need higher quantity of Indigo, in such cases we recommend customers to purchase our Indigo pack with this product(image as given below). This product does not contain any Indigo so it will have a reddish tone to your grey hair. For those who have been using chemical hair dyes and would like to use Henna, we recommend giving a gap of 6 weeks and once you start using Henna try it for few months, so your hair gets used to the non-chemical product. Also, we recommend Henna to be used on a non-oily/ non-greasy hair for it to hold the colour to your hair. Directions Step 1: Directions to dye hair / grey hair: Mix 100 grams (for long hair) of Henna Chestnut powder with 3 tablespoons of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar or chamomile tea or apple juice, all helps in releasing the dye in Henna. Add either yogurt, full fat milk, warm strong black tea or warm strong black coffee a little by little to get a thick paste. Keep closed in an airtight container to retain moisture for 6 hours or ideally overnight. It is advisable to use a ceramic, glass bowl or iron bowl for this mixture. However, the mixture can be used within 2 hours if needed urgently. The colour of the Henna mixture will change depending on which ingredient(tea, lemon, coffee, etc) you choose to add. To get a darker brown colour you can add additional Indigo with this mixture and apply it on to your hair. Application Step 2: Application: Please use gloves to apply the paste. Apply a bit of oil around your forehead, ear and neck area around your hair line to protect your skin from any colour that may transfer during the application. Apply the mixture from the root to the tip of your hair, strand by strand to get full coverage. Once you have applied the mixture to your hair, tie it securely into a bun at the top of your head depending on how long your hair is. Cover your hair with a shower cap or wrap it in cling film and leave for 2 to 4 hrs (as shown in the image below). After 2 to 4hrs wash off the mixture with luke warm to cold water with a mild shampoo. Finally rinse in cold/room temp water to close the hair follicles. Indigo Powder Henna Chestnut/Auburn Colour gives reddish brown colour to your hair therefore if you have 70% or more grey then we would recommend you to add our Indigo Powder to Henna Chestnut/Auburn to achieve a darker brown colour to your hair. Body Art Quality Body Art quality It can be used for temporary tattoos, We only sell the product. We do not sell the designs or stencils for it. Eyebrow It can be used to colour eyebrows for a defined look. Please add Indigo to the product to achieve a darker brown colour. Ingredients Indigo Powder is used with Henna based products, it helps in achieving a darker colour to your hair. Bit of a pain to do: mixture needs to develop for 6 hrs first. I applied for 3 hrs and then rinsed. I probably should have left a bit long er, as my hair is already close to the desired colour and I especially wanted the conditioning effect.
