They are the usual fairly thick transparent plastic so no complaints and each bag has its own plastic ziplock closer so no need to go hunting for one. The supplied vacuum pump works well and is a nice touch, you could certainly take one of these away if you wanted to keep your suitcase nice and neat although these bags are so big you would have to be careful not to overpack! If you have not used a handpump for deflating one of these bags then I would say it takes quite a while but that is just because they are such a big size and is not a criticism of the pump which fits well to the nozzle (on a screw thread in fact) and is quiet and efficient. We find the best way is to use a vacuum cleaner, although they nozzle doesn't fit over the outlet valve perfectly it works really well and gets the size down in no time. Review: These vacuum storage bags work very well and come with a hand pump which is very useful if your vacuum cleaner nozzle is not a perfect fit for the outlet. Hand pump also is a screw fit to outlet which makes using it very easy. Bags really are enormous though - used one for a double duvet and another for a very large bedspread, but could easily have fitted both items in one bag had I been storing them at the same time. Bags are also made of heavy duty plastic which should be very durable. They are great for storing duvets (I have managed to get a king size feather duvet into these bags). I have tried all of the bags, and all but one seem to be fine. One however keeps re-inflating so obviously a leak somewhere. The company had very kindly sent a complimentary bag out with the order ( so the fact one doesn’t work isn’t so bad as they had given an extra bag anyway-just took the shine off their gesture a little). Also had a nice introductory email and follow up email from the company.
