A: Michelle, it is hard plastic that you roll up and sip like a straw. I do want to warn you before you purchase this item, I tried several vehicle cup holders and couldn't get it to fit in any of them. Really bad design. I would think twice before making this purchase. Of course if you're not ever going to take it in a vehicle it should work perfect for you.
