Review: The bad: As another reviewer noted, the threads on the large female coupler that attaches to the male threads of the jet/nozzle through the wall of the pool fail to tighten completely. I used teflon tape to create a tighter fit but still, you can only get the fitting just snug enough to seal, which does not feel comfortable enough. Any additional tightening beyond that and the threads slip and pop off and it becomes very loose again and you have to try again without over-tightening g it. I’m not totally comfortable leaving this as is, particularly when we are away from home for a few days. I will probably try to find another similar purge valve from another manufacturer that still opens 100% and has a proper thread connection. Maybe I got a bad one? The good: This particular part opens 100%, meaning that when the valve is in the open position, the plunger is completely clear of the opening, unlike some others where the plunger partially obstructs the flow of water even when fully opened.
