Review: Great quality with clear instructions - I was so worried I messed this up since this is my first time brewing my own kombucha, but the quality of all of the different elements of this kit is so good it’s almost foolproof. Just follow the directions and you are pretty much guaranteed success. The SCOBY is so high quality, my first batch was done in just 7 days despite my little screw ups. I didn’t love the flavor so much, but it may just be that I prefer the flavor of black tea kombucha, but with honey for the sweetener. So the flavor of this might be exactly what one would expect from a Jun kombucha. I don’t know. I’m trying my next batch with a blend of black and green teas with honey to see how I like that in comparison. We’re already talking about buying another kit with the traditional kombucha for comparisons and expanded kombucha flavor, and I will absolutely be buying from this company again.

A: The jar is 1 gallon.

**Q: The temperature test strip doesn't register anything? Any tips on making it work? Thanks!**
A: I had a hard time reading the temperature strip, too, but it does register. The problem is the color difference isn’t clearly delineated. Look carefully under bright light. If this doesn’t work, then I don’t have an answer.

This is a good quality starting kit with everything you need to get started. I did buy an extra jar for secondary fermentation and to have to place my scoby while steeping the brew but it's not necessary. First batch was very light but research suggests that is normal, second batch was excellent!
