I own 2 external disc drives able to play / record any disc media from a simple CD to the very high capacity Blu-ray discs. These players / recorders are mechanical devices engineered to a high degree of precision and consequently need protection from accidental damage. The iGadgitz Hard Travel Case is perfectly engineered and is a competent companion able to fully protect its contents, including accessories such as connecting cables. The cases are not truly 'hard' in the sense of being 'rigid'. There is a degree of 'give' if slight pressure is applied but the degree of resistance is more than adequate to prevent casual misuse of the contents. Whilst I have not tried it myself, I believe these cases are able to protect their contents from a 'drop test'.I am unaware of a better hard case for an external disc drive. If there is one, I have yet to find it. Recommended.
