It does a decent enough job removing dry dead skin cells using fine pumice particles, and leaving my skin smooth and soft. There's little to no discernible scent to it, and what it does smell like is just "ok" I have other body scrubs I like better in their performance and scent, so this won't be something I'd gravitate towards once I'm done using it. I don't have hyper-pigmentation issues with my body skin, so I can't speak to those benefits.
